Just a little update to let everyone know what's going on. I am currently super busy writing my next book. It's a Paranormal/Vampire/Supernatural book with some romance thrown in...because let's face it every book needs some romance. I basically started writing this book because I needed to step away from my Protectors series, just for a little bit. I felt like I needed to re-fall in love with writing it. And boy have I! I found that through writing the book I'm currently working on, it made me really want to get back to writing the Protectors. This isn't saying I don't love the story I'm working on right now, because I do, I really do. I love the main character and the flow and I can't wait to get it out there so people can read it, but I miss Avery, Jade, Orcatia, and especially Draven. Writing about them again will be a complete treat!
So, this has just been a wee writing update. I've gotten the first few chapters of book 5 in the Protectors Saga written and am excited to get back to it. I don't like setting deadlines because I find it hard to keep them, but I'm pretty confident the book will be out sometime in the summer.
As for my next book to be released, it's tentatively being called 'Becoming Eden'. Like I said it's a Paranormal/Vampire/Supernatural/Romance story, and I'll tell y'all more about it in the near future. Till then, thanks for reading.

Dravery Has a Playlist
I think most writers have a playlist or maybe even just
one or two songs they play to help them get in a certain mood for
writing, help them write a certain scene. And I am no different. In
fact, I live for the writing playlist. My stories would be nothing
without them and my scenes, I feel, would lack something. So, if any of
you lovely readers are interested, I have compiled a few of the songs I
use when I'm writing Dravery scenes. I hope you enjoy them or even feel
like listening to one or two before reading a scene you enjoy. I also
have playlists for Avery and Jade scenes, battle scenes, Jade and Eryk
scenes, and many others. Told you - I am a music junkie - the withdrawal
is terrible. I promise to share some more playlists in the near future,
and in the meantime I'm busy working on the 5th book and my little
vampire novel. Now onto the playlist -
DRAVERY'S Playlist
1) The Haunting by Anberlin
2) Blind by Placebo
3) Cut by Plumb
4) Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars
5) Desire by Ryan Adams
6) Nicest Thing by Kate Nash
7) Lucky by Biff Naked
8) Take Me As You Found Me by Anberlin
9) Howl by Florence and the Machine
10) All the Way 4 U by Poets of the Fall

Bean Cakes and Parasols
Just a little life update for all my lovely readers. Over the weekend I attended Matsuri, or the Japanese Festival of Arizona. Two friends of mine were in a fashion show where they modeled different variations of traditional Japanese kimonos, and they did a fantastic job. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to breathe, let alone move in the beautiful, but crazy binding outfits. Here's a little pic of me with the two of them in all their awesomeness. Yes, I'm the stubby little one in the middle.
So after watching a fashion show, a drumming show, and a dance show, I was left feeling incredibly inspired, if not grossly untalented. The stirrings for a Japanese themed paranormal romance began forming in my mind, but before I could fully work it out, I realized my pale vampire flesh was beginning to an unflattering shade of pink, so my friend and I went and purchased a parasol to stop the skin baking in its tracks.
After some bean cakes which have a sort of play-doh texture, but are nonetheless delicious (how I'm sure my 3 year old self actually thought play-doh tasted) we headed home where I continued to formulate my new story idea. There's nothing more exciting than working out a new story. Your imagination and creativity get to flow and if you add a little music to the mix (let's go with M83's Midnight City) and it's a truly magical experience. There's so much about the Japanese culture that's rich, and thrilling, and inspiring...however, the realization that I'm already deep in the process of writing two separate books, book 5 of The Protectors and a vampire book that I hope to have up pretty soon. Side note, it's a vampire book, but its not a too typical vampire book - I promise. This means that my little Japanese inspired book will have to be put off for a while, but the outline is written down and waiting for me whenever I get the time to return to it.
It's amazing how just stepping out of your front door and attending a festival can inspire an entire book. The same can be said for going on a vacation or to a concert or even just a picnic in the park. Writers, all artists for that matter, can pick up so much inspiration from the world and people around them. Every day is a new day to come up with your next amazing idea...and that's pretty damn cool!
Till next time my wonderful readers...thank you...I luv ya!

MUSIC MONDAY - It's Muse-ic to my ears
Let's talk about Muse-ic! I think the funniest thing about that little play on words is how much joy it actually brings me. Seriously, though, let's talk about Muse. I've always loved Muse. I became a huge fan way back when their Absolution CD first came out. And years later, after getting many of my friends hooked on their musical genius, I am still a fan. In fact, a good many of their songs are on my 'Writing Playlist' (remind me to share some of those songs on here sometime in the future).
Lately, I've become OBSESSED with their new song 'Madness'. In addition to working on the 5th book in The Protectors Saga, I've also been putting effort into a few other writing projects, and the song is perfect to just get lost in and think through some of the more intricate story details in my head.
So, I hope you enjoy this Muse-ical wonder as much as I do :)

A Tiny Offering
All people are an interesting mix of good traits and bad traits. Personally, some of my flaws consist of poor time management, being easily distracted (like I'm practically a sugar riddled three year old), taking on too much and then getting overwhelmed and sleeping for a week, and not taking care of my health properly. Of course, these are only a very few of my many questionable traits, but these are the ones that lead to certain disappointing things...like promising to have a snippet from book 5 of the Protectors Saga out on my bday and then failing to do so. Apologies. Apologies.
I know it's about a week late, but I'm FINALLY getting it to you. I couldn't decide what to share, so I literally just brought up a page at random and picked out a tiny scene from the page. I hope you enjoy it, and I promise (a promise I actually intend to keep) that I will post more tiny snippets from the book in between now and when I publish it. I also promise there will be Dravery scenes! To my readers and followers...thank you...I <3 U!

And here you go. The reason for this post, a small excerpt from book 5 of the Protectors Saga -
"Are
you nuts?!" Jade stepped in front of Avery, blocking her from returning
into the chamber, "It's a dragon! There are only two things you do with a
dragon. One, if its killing people then you slay it," out of the corner of
her eye, Avery could see Sasha nodding her head in agreement, "and two, if
it's not actively killing people then you don't provoke it in to killing people…and by people I mean us!"
"I
think it wants to help us." Avery argued, "It seems to hate Demons
even more than we do."
An
almost guttural sound escaped from the mouth on Jade's shocked face, "What
are you, the 'Dragon Whisperer' all of a sudden?"
Avery
fought the impulse to roll her eyes. Instead, she said calmly, trying to reason
with Jade, "If it were going to kill us it could have easily done so by
now."
Jade
opened her mouth in a silent scream, letting Avery know that reasoning with her
was out of the question, "Oh my God!" She struggled to keep her voice
down, "I cannot believe what I'm hearing. This is like that show in that
animal channel where the idiot person keeps a wild animal as a pet…and then the
monkey rips their face off!"
There
was nothing Avery could even begin to think of to say in response to Jade.
Skylar,
on the other hand, protested, "I like monkeys!"
Jade
squinted her eyes at Skylar, shaking her head in disbelief. Glancing back to
Avery, she asked, "Do you get what I'm saying?"
"What
have you got against monkeys?" Skylar pushed.
"Forget
the monkey!" Jade shouted, her voice bouncing off the walls of the cave
and echoing around the girls.

Cupcakes and Spoilers
So dear readers, guess whose birthday it is on Sunday...yep, this girl's! I've decided to be excited and not focus on getting older. After all, getting older can be kinda cool, and there's no way I could ever be upset about a day that not only celebrates moi, but also involves presents and cupcakes with rainbow chip frosting (mouth drooling in anticipation)! Drooling Dooling...yeah, that brings back some childhood scars.
As a little present to my blog, I'll be posting a small little excerpt from book 5 in The Protectors Saga on Sunday as well. Now, since my bday will probably involve more than a few margaritas, I can't promise the post will be timely or entirely coherent, but I will get something put up here. I just have to decide if I want a bit of fight scene, a bit of Jade and Avery, or some Dravery. If you have an opinion or preference just let me know, I always LOVE hearing from fans of the series. Till Sunday...be happy and have adventures. Paige out...

2013, How Lovely To See You!
2012 was a hard year. Without question, there were some amazing highlights...publishing the 4th book in the Protectors Saga, finding a day job I actually enjoy, Christmas time at Disneyland, the Hobbit movie :) but when all is said and done, it was a difficult year. Hospital stays and family illnesses can take a toll on a person, body and soul. Now I know the passing of one year into another doesn't actually represent a new start to anything, not time wise anyway, but I have decided to let the beginning of 2013 renew my spirits. Sticking with time honored traditions I have made a list of resolutions, and this year I think they're actually doable (sadly, I had to take own Belle's library from Beauty and the Beast off of it, along with travel in a time machine...maybe next year.
First on my list...okay, not actually the very first thing, but it's a good opener...is to actually get on this little blog of mine and blog more, actually try and keep people informed about my writing. Sorry, sorry, I say shamefully, knowing I should have done this months ago.
So, in the spirit of being informative, book 5 in the Protectors Saga is coming along. It's coming along slowly, not glacially slow, but still slow; mostly due to the fact that I'm working on two other separate books at the same time. One's a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast and the other is more sci-fi alien focused. I'll most likely elaborate more on those in the many upcoming posts I intend to put up this year. But back to book 5, I may not know when I'll have it finished, but I promise it'll be out sometime in 2013, chocked full of girls kicking ass and many more Dravery (if you've read my blog you know what this is) moments full of tension and longing stares.
Till next time, have a great beginning of 2013 and to my readers and followers...thank you...I love you!
